Help for you right now, and four things anyone can do.

Two ways forward

Four things you can do

None of these needs anybody's permission, and none is a promise that anything will change.

  • Look up

Open the Atlas, choose your country, and read "What this country promised" on its card: which of four treaties it has joined, and whether a young person there can take a complaint to the UN.

The treaty record is read from the UN Treaty Collection and carries the date the UN stamped on its own page. What the promises mean at school is in Your rights.

  • Ask

Ask your school one question: who can a student talk to in confidence, and how does a student reach them without asking permission first? Ask a teacher, a year head or a student council.

Ask it in writing if you can, and keep the answer. Before you tell anyone anything personal, ask who else will see it.

  • Share

Send one page to one person who needs it more than you do, such as your country's card in the Atlas or a chapter of Your rights, with a line saying why you thought of them.

Written content on this site is free to share under CC BY-NC 4.0, with credit and not for money. The interview profiles are not: link to them, never copy them.

  • Correct

Tell this site where it is wrong: a number that has moved, or a sentence that says more than its source does.

How to send one: Correct this. How the checking works: Methodology.

What this page does not ask

It does not ask for money, a signature or an email address, and nothing here is collected about you. It does not ask you to tell your own story to anyone, here or anywhere else.

This is information, not medical or legal advice. If today is not a day for doing any of this, that is fine.
